WHITE EAGLE TLÉIX' NOOW
(ONE FORTIFICATION)
Historical Context
The Nás'k Adawóotl used by WHITE EAGLE is a representation of nature with infinite lines with fast open hand strikes like the crane, snake, or eagle.
The Nás'k Adawóotl routine uses only the bow & arrow stance (sheexw yanshuká) and is carried out with controlled breathing - only half exhalation so that you never fully exhale. Inhalation and exhalation are performed in unison with the various blocking and striking movements. One fortification's emphasis is placed on the fluidity of the practitioners' muscles, and movement of the body as a solid, stable, contained core unit. We use open hand pattern and employ minimal tension during execution. This is intended to facilitate the correct training of life and breath.
The narrow (shoulder width) upright "modified bow" foot position of the Nás'k Adawóotl stance balances stability in two directions (front and side) with the flexible waist rotation needed for strong punches and kicks, whilst the hips remain forward and stable to maintain a rooted stance. The turned-in position of the front knee and the bent back knee help protect the groin from kicks.
